This 1996 book is written for the person who plays primarily in the home game. The author, who taught as professor of economics and law, is also author of a text on economics. He directs his attention to fixed limit ($5, $10 or $20 maximum) or low-ante, pot-limit games, where the maximum bet would never be higher than $100. It contains five major sections with an introduction explaining the basics, the types of games, and concepts like probability and how to estimate it; expected value, pot odds and risk. Then sections discuss bluffing; avoiding second best; pot management; reading behavior. Includes the following games: five stud and draw; 7-stud; 7-stud hi-lo; Hold'em and Omaha including charts, tables and graphs with some mathematical analysis. A small, but interesting chapter on how people cheat and the "art" of handling disputes. 426 pages, paperbound. 1996.
